Jo is Director & Chair of London’s Contemporary Visual Arts Network, an independent researcher and education consultant. She curates CVAN London programmes, including the Creative Learning, Climate Adaptation, and Data Matters Series. With Dr Jack Ky Tan, artists and network members, she contributes to the AREVA (anti-racist and equitable visual arts) programme. Jo’s practice research operates at the intersection of arts and education, with a focus on feminist New Materialism, critical pedagogies, and arts-based education methodologies. She has a special interest in multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborations across the visual and virtual arts, museums, galleries, and public realm, with a commitment to intersectional activism.
Previously, Jo was the Principal Partnerships Manager (Creative Industries) at UCL. a co-founder of UCL Art Futures and Founding Principal of Rye Studio for the Creative Industries. She serves on the Diversity in the Public Realm Partners Board in the Creative and Culture Industries and 24 hour unit at the GLA. Additionally, she is a Trustee of the Blessed Foundation, a Fellow of the RSA, and a graduate of Canterbury Christ Church University, Winchester School of Art, and the Royal Academy Schools, London.
