Our mission is to bring visual arts workers together to drive change in our sector. Our vision of art democratised and making change is made real through our values – we are tenacious, courageous, imaginative, always learning, open to possibilities, and committed to social justice.

CVAN has a renewed five-year strategy, with two overarching objectives that will drive our work till 2026:

  • To develop a fair, equitable and sustainable sector
  • Establish a collaborative network and partnerships

We support the visual arts sector and question the status quo, generating debate and pursuing social change. We lead by setting cultural standards, determining fair and equitable practice, and evidencing the social and economic value of the sector. 

Through our profoundly rooted regionality and understanding, we campaign to positively influence policy to build recognition and value of the visual arts. Our vision is for equity and fairness for all arts workers and organisations.
