Indy joins CVAN with experience across arts and culture, social justice, programme development and community-led change.
Much of her work has focused on bringing people and organisations together to learn from one another, question existing ways of working and explore how power can be shared more meaningfully.
Previously, Indy was Director and Head of Programmes at Voices of Colour, where she led programmes bringing together communities, public bodies, funders and organisations. Her work included developing creative health programmes, peer learning and participatory research exploring racial inequalities in health, alongside wider work with local authorities and community organisations to co-design services and systems. She also worked with organisations and funders to rethink how programmes and funding are designed and delivered, including exploring the role that language, intersectionality and power play in who is able to participate and shape decisions.
Indy also managed the Oxford Cultural Anti-Racism Alliance, leading an Arts Council-funded programme involving arts and cultural organisations across Oxford. She worked with artists, organisations and senior leaders to explore what anti-racism means in practice, creating spaces for shared learning and honest conversations while supporting organisations to translate that learning into changes in areas such as recruitment and organisational culture. Indy currently works with Fusion Arts in Oxford, where she has been leading efforts to transform an empty city-centre space into artist studios and creative spaces, with a focus on creating greater access for artists and communities who have historically had fewer opportunities to access space in the city.
Across her work, Indy is particularly interested in how power operates within organisations and systems, who gets to shape decisions and how organisations can move from conversation into meaningful change.
