Monique’s career spans over ten years in arts organisations, as a funder and expert in inclusive community, public engagement and visual arts programming. Operating for many years at the intersection of curation and inclusive public programming, Monique has worked on major exhibitions and international festivals, including the 2021 Venice Biennale’s first performance programme. She was the Curator for the 2017 Tate live art festival and one of the 2016 Public Programmes Curators for Herzog & de Meuron Tate Modern extension opening and in 2012 worked on Shape Arts and Unlimited programme for disabled artists. Monique is currently a trustee at g39 artist-run visual arts space.
Monique grew up in London and is currently working with Arts Council England (ACE) where she co-founded ACE’s first Staff Race Equality Group and facilitated the group through a theory of change project focusing on how the agency could become more inclusive, relevant and model best equality, diversity and inclusion practice. Monique is interested in better inclusion, better distribution of resources and supporting underrepresented people to thrive in the arts sector.
