Last month CVAN’s Dr Cecilia Wee and Şenay Camgöz took part in a meeting hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Creative Diversity to discuss strategies for championing equity, diversity and inclusion in the visual arts.
Their report Creative Majority is a key reference point for CVAN’s Fair & Equitable programme. The report, built around five As: ambition, allyship, accessibility, adaptability and accountability, highlights recommendations for policymakers and practical tools for us all to help make the creative sector more inclusive.
King’s College London, in collaboration with the APPG for Creative Diversity, will be conducting research to understand the pathways into the creative workforce and identify critical points for intervention to promote equity, diversity and inclusion. The quantitative work will address the question of who gets into creative higher education and the most effective pathways from education into the creative workforce. They are therefore seeking to appoint a post-doctoral researcher to work on this project.
