#ArtIsEssential Campaign Impact

In February 2021, CVAN, along with network partners across the sector, launched the #ArtIsEssential campaign. The campaign was designed to unite the sector, and be visible ahead of the Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review in Autumn 2021.

Together, we have amplified the voices of many experiencing the precarious nature of our sector. As one, we have closed the gap between arts workers and policy and decision makers. We have written to MPs, and gained headlines when we stood together and said “NO” to the proposed cuts to arts education.

United, we have produced a value case as to why #ArtIsEssential to the health and wealth of our country, evidencing the contribution our sector makes, and the danger of devaluation.

Thank you for being visible.
