Lois Stonock is a curator, director and art worker committed to building cultural infrastructures that are rooted in care, solidarity, and long-term community relationships.
She is the Founder and Director of Metroland Cultures, a studio and arts organisation North West London, dedicated to supporting artists and neighbourhoods through stewardship, collective research, and collaborative production. Previously, she was Artistic Director of Brent 2020, London Borough of Culture, where she led a major commissioning programme through the pandemic and established the Brent Biennial. She is also the founder of the Jennie Lee Institute, a think tank exploring policy, imagination, and new models for cultural work. Lois is passionate about policy and systems change—working at the intersection of art, governance, and place to influence how cultural work is valued and resourced. She is Chair of Open School East and a former Clore Fellow. Her practice centres on collaboration, equity, and sustainability in socially engaged art.
